Things To Do In Key West for Couples

Mallory Square Sunset In Key West Florida

Key West is a fun island to visit with friends and family but it also could be a wonderful town for a couple’s romantic getaway!

One of the first things you should do with your partner is to take a morning ferry to Sunset Key Island. There you will have a romantic and relaxing breakfast with a view while sipping bubbly mimosas. The place is magical and you also get a nice boat ride there and back included in your meal price. Reservations are required and you can make one here.

After breakfast is a great time to head to the beach or chill by the pool. Fort Zachary Taylor Park and Beach would be a great choice if you chose to spend your day at the ocean. You can bring your own snorkel equipment and explore underwater life right off the shore. There are also picnic tables available to the public at no charge so bring your lunch and enjoy it while watching the ocean. Learn more about the park here.

Now is a good time to refresh and head out to Duval Street to see what it has to offer. The strip is filled with bars, restaurants, shops, and galleries! You can either walk it, bike it, or … explore it on a rickshaw!

Key West History and Culture Rickshaw Experience is the BEST choice when it comes to exploring the island. It is perfect for couples because it is private and you are the only two people on the pedicab, besides your driver/guide. You will sit, relax, and enjoy the scenic streets of Key West while learning about the island’s history and culture. This experience will give you a great overview of the town and the guide will suggest things to do and to see in Key West. You can check availability here.

What else could be a romantic thing for couples to do?

Of course, SUNSET!

Mallory square is known as the best place to watch the sunset in Key West but there are a lot of things going on - street performers, arts and crafts booths, food, and drink carts. If you don't mind so many people around you then just make sure to get there at least 1 hour before the sun goes down to save yourself the best seat along the water and ENJOY!

But if you want more romantic experience, we suggest going to the upstairs bar at Bistro 245. There you can get a drink and enjoy a more private and intimate sunset (sometimes it can get crowded on the weekends, so arrive early to save a seat).

And that was a one-day itinerary for perfect Key West romantic getaway for couples!
